Thurs May 9, 2024, 4-6pm (ET)
"HISTORY OF U.S. ENERGY STANDARDS", 2 hrs, continuing education for engineers, designers, energy practitioners and contractors. The course summarizes various US energy problems and reaction policies since the 1970s in order to explain how US energy standards and practices evolved to how they are today. Presented for Impact Mgt Svcs, Norwood OH, 513-731-1111, www.ineedimpact.com

Fri May 10, 2-5pm (ET)
"INSULATIONS IN LIGHT CONSTRUCTION FOR NORTHERN CLIMATES" 3 hrs, continuing education webinar for engineers, designers, energy practitioners and contractors.  The course starts by summarizing U.S. energy problems which led to the introduction of energy codes which began requiring insulated assemblies.  Then various types of insulation are described and compared.  Calculations are presented for determining achieved R-values of common insulated wood-framed assemblies, sizing heating equipment output and estimating heating energy usage.  Many insulated wood-framed assemblies are then analyzed and compared for their achieved R-values and condensation potentials.  Presented for Halfmoon Education Inc, Eau Claire, WI, 715-835-5900 or www.halfmoonseminars.org.

Thurs Mar 23, 2024, 2-6pm (ET)
"RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES" + "OFF-GRID SOLAR PV", 2 hrs each, presented back-to-back, continuing education for engineers, designers, energy practitioners and contractors.  RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES presents an overview of several types of rechargeable batteries, comparing discharge and recharge preferences, operational characteristics and best practices for nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, lead-acid and various lithium battery chemistries.  OFF-GRID SOLAR PV begins with how off-grid differs from grid-connected solar, including the increased importance of reducing electricity loads and usage and the fact that batteries are needed for backup power when sunlight is insufficient or unavailable.  Also covered is how to size and choose the major components in off-grid solar setups.  Presented for Impact Mgt Svcs, Norwood OH, 513-731-1111, www.ineedimpact.com

Thurs Jun 6, 2024, 2-6pm (ET)
"HISTORY OF U.S. ENERGY STANDARDS" + "ENERGY EFFICIENCY ASSESSMENT", 2 hrs each, presented back-to-back, continuing education for engineers, designers, energy practitioners and contractors.  1st course summarizes US energy problems and reaction policies since the 1970s in order to explain how US energy standards and practices evolved to how they are today.  2nd course summarizes how to compare or benchmark the relative efficiencies of buildings and homes as well as HVAC systems, lighting and other energy-using features in them in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.  Presented for Impact Mgt Svcs, Norwood OH, 513-731-1111, www.ineedimpact.com

Thurs Jun 27, 2024, 4-6pm (ET)
